Public Broadcasting as a guarantor for an independent and well-founded quality journalism or is it an outdated state-oriented operation? In times of "alternative facts" and the polarization of the media landscape, Switzerland has intensively dealt with these questions in a referendum. To what extent is this debate effective and does it require changes in the direction and funding of public service broadcasting?
